NFL to Review Hit on Collins

The NFL is reviewing a hit by Denver linebacker Bill Romanowski that left Kerry Collins with a broken jaw, sidelining the Carolina Panther quarterback for an estimated six weeks.

Meanwhile, Kevin Greene’s holdout took a new twist when the Panthers moved inside linebacker Micheal Barrow into Greene’s old spot, left outside linebacker.

Center Chris Dalman’s injured left knee was diagnosed as a third-degree sprain that will not require surgery. Dalman, one of the 49ers’ four injured front-line starters, will miss three to five weeks with a torn medial collateral ligament.
