On Tour? It’s No Excuse

When one singer from the Bronx and two brothers from Cuba collided in Miami, the upshot was “No Mercy,” literally.
Marty Cintron, 25, and 24-year-old twins Ariel and Gabriel Hernandez used to work out in gyms, bike ride and roller-blade at Miami’s South Beach and play a little basketball. Now the group spends most of its time on tour for the Latin pop “No Mercy” album (Arista).
Here’s how the guys stay fit on the road:
EXERCISE
Gabriel:
Hotel gym: treadmill. Travels with 10-pound dumbbells, push-ups.
FOOD
Gabriel:
Breakfast: Egg white omelet or scrambled, fresh fruit, coffee.
Lunch: Salad.
Dinner: Seafood, vegetables, wine.
Drink: Water.
Dessert: Tres Leches or anything sweet.
Didja know?: “I probably sing more on my own, like in the car, than I do with the group.”
EXERCISE
Marty:
Hotel gym: treadmill, stationary bike.
Otherwise: push-ups, light weights, jump rope, running.
FOOD
Marty:
Breakfast: Bacon, bagels and butter, fruit, egg whites, vitamin C, coffee.
Lunch: Grilled shrimp, fish or chicken, rice, vegetables.
Dinner: Fish, chicken, shrimp, steamed vegetables.
Sweets: Chocolate and apple pie.
Drink: Water and beer once in a while.
Didja know?: “I sing to other tunes on the radio in the car all the time.”
EXERCISE
Ariel:
Hotel Gym: Push-ups, sit-ups, a little boxing.
FOOD
Breakfast: Egg white omelet with turkey, slice of whole wheat bread, coffee with skim milk.
Lunch: Chicken sandwich or a salad.
Dinner: Grilled fish with pasta, salad or vegetables, grilled potatoes, wine.
Drink: Fruit juices.
Dessert: Cheesecake.
Didja know?: “I sing in the shower like everybody does.”
