U.S. Interference

Two things bother me. First is the hypocrisy of our objecting to China’s attempting to influence our politics in the United States, while we interfere in the domestic affairs of China and many other countries.
Second, how is it that one man, Sen. Jesse Helms (R-N.C.), can single-handedly determine and control American foreign policy, including the Senate confirmation of the appointment of an ambassador? Wow! Helms supports subsidies for the drug nicotine, which kills hundreds of thousands each year, while opposing controlled use of pot for medicinal uses.
