Re “The Right to Know vs. the Right to Privacy,” Aug. 1: That the television media even argue that they have a right to broadcast the most intimate details of an ordinary person’s life demonstrates how completely out of touch the media are with the general public. The “reality” emergency shows are a completely unjustified invasion of the people’s privacy.
Since the media cannot handle their obligations responsibly, all government agencies should stop allowing “ride-alongs” by media crews. Emergency crews should not be the eyes and ears for vulture television shows.
