United Way Distributing $1.4 Million to Help Kids

The county’s United Way has started distributing more than $1.4 million to local programs and services providing affordable care for children.
United Way officials estimate the funds will help more than 149,000 children through the 23 local health and human service agencies targeted for the money. The funded services include an emphasis on programs for early childhood health and development, and parenting education.
The recipients include Boys and Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley, Girls Incorporated of Orange County, Orange Children and Parents Together and Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center.
