IRVINE — Admor Memory Corp. said it will unveil its new $2-million manufacturing center today. Admor--a maker of computer memory products for PCs, laptops and printers--plans to use the 1,700-square-foot addition to its existing facilities to expand into specialized technology markets.
In July, for example, Admor became the exclusive memory supplier for a line of Yamaha Corp. of America’s digital musical devices.
“We’re hoping to see some cost savings by bringing our manufacturing in-house,” said John Ondor, Admor’s chief executive. “By being able to oversee the production from the ground up, we’re hoping to have the flexibility and control to offer memory upgrades on new products.”
Admor, which has 76 employees, expects to hire “modestly, maybe another six production people” for the new facility, Ondor said.
