Armchair athletes and experienced runners can register Saturday for a training program that prepares participants for the 1998 Los Angeles Marathon.
Participants in the “L.A. Roadrunners” program will meet Saturdays at Westminster Elementary School in Venice beginning Sept. 6 to run or walk, said Rosemary Hutton, a program spokeswoman.
Lectures about nutrition, exercise physiology and hydration also are part of the 28-week regimen, Hutton said.
Registration will be held Saturday and Aug. 23 at 9 a.m. at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center car-pool parking lot at 3rd Street and Sherbourne Drive. A $60 fee includes the $40 marathon entrance fee.
