Corpse in Palmdale Wash Is Identified

A woman’s body found Tuesday in a Palmdale wash has been identified by the coroner, but her name and cause of death will not be released until authorities can notify her next of kin, a spokeswoman for Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Saturday.
The corpse was discovered while Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies searched for Renee Mullins, a Lancaster woman missing since Sunday whose body was found Wednesday in the California Aqueduct. There was speculation for several hours that the earlier body found was hers.
But sheriff’s detectives determined that the Palmdale body was too tall to be Mullins. Authorities are waiting for autopsy results on Mullins’ corpse to determine the cause of death.
