Jeanette Antolin of Huntington Beach placed 10th in the all-around gymnastics competition at the USA Championships Saturday in Denver.
The finish was high enough for the Marina High sophomore to capture a berth on the U.S. national team and the position of first reserve on the team that will travel to the World Championships in Lausanne, Switzerland, Aug. 31-Sept. 7.
Antolin, 15, was holding a starting spot throughout the two-day competition, but 1996 Olympian Dominique Moceanu edged her out for the last spot on the six-person starting team.
As first reserve, Antolin will travel to the World Championships, but will compete only if one of her teammates is injured.
