Splash update--The Splash returns home, where it has won five of six games, including four in a row. The Splash won, 6-5, in a shootout Saturday in Dallas. Bernie Lilavois (30 points, including 21 goals), who had three goals against Dallas, is among the league scoring leaders. Dale Ervine had a goal and two assists. This is the first meeting of the season against Houston. The Splash leads the series, 5-3.
Hotshots update--Paul Dougherty, second to Dallas’ Tatu in most valuable player voting last season, is making another run this season. He leads the league in scoring (52 points, with 30 goals). The Hotshots have three of the league’s top-20 scorers, with Nebo Bandovic and Ziad Allan complementing Dougherty. Goalkeeper Terry Waldorf is the league’s fifth-leading keeper. Houston has the league’s most effective power-play unit.
