JULIAN--Antiques and collectibles dealers will set up shop along 3rd Street, from Washington to B streets, Aug. 24 for the Back Country Antique Street Faire. A live auction will be held at noon. There will be music and other fare for sale. Free admission. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (760) 765-1857.
SAN DIEGO--The Mission Hills Music and Arts Festival ’97 on Aug. 24 will present music from Brazilian jazz to blues; Philippine, German and Native American dance troupes; fine art and crafts; and vintage cars. BIG BASIN REDWOODS STATE PARK--Founders Day, an event new this year, will celebrate the establishment in 1902 of the Big Basin Redwoods State Park. ORANGE--The International Street Fair, Aug. 29-31, will present a potpourri of cultures. Each “street” has a cultural theme such as Italian, Polynesian, Norwegian, Danish, Greek, Mexican, German and Irish. EUREKA--Visitors are invited to spend a day at Humboldt Bay, where the local symphony, dancers, bands and a mime are among entertainers at the Sept. 7 Festival on the Bay.
