The man’s name was not known late Sunday, said Brian Humphrey, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman.
At about 8:40 p.m., residents in the 11700 block of Bromont Avenue reported hearing shots fired. When Los Angeles Police Department officers arrived, they found the man, an African American in his early 20s, lying in the street, Humphrey said.
