A 51-year-old Sylmar man apparently was asphyxiated when he was trapped between two mobile homes while working in Canyon Country, authorities said Monday.
The man was identified as Roderic Daniels, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Daniel Castillo.
The accident occurred sometime Sunday in the 18300 block of Sierra Highway, authorities said.
Daniels’ daughter-in-law told authorities that he worked moving and refurbishing mobile homes, Castillo said. He went to work at about 7 a.m. Sunday at the Canyon Country location, but did not return in the evening--prompting the daughter-in-law to call the Santa Clarita sheriff’s station, Castillo said.
At about 10 p.m., deputies went to the site where the man was supposed to have worked and found him trapped between the mobile homes, Castillo said. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the county Fire Department.
There were no witnesses to the apparent accident, he said.
