Volunteers Needed at Centennial Farm

The Orange County Fair and Exposition Center is seeking volunteers, especially people who are bilingual, to lead Centennial Farm tours for schoolchildren 5 to 8 years old.
Volunteers will be trained by fair staff.
Centennial Farm is a replica of a working farm that features year-round crop displays, animals, exhibits and tours aimed at educating youth through hands-on experience.
New to the farm this year is an aquaculture exhibit highlighting fish and water-based farming. It is in the Silo Building and also features classroom instruction.
Increased interest in Centennial Farm tours has resulted in the need for more, fair officials said.
Last year, 46,000 schoolchildren visited the farm.
Docents volunteer one day a week. The 90-minute tours begin at 9 and 11 a.m. Mondays through Fridays, Sept. 29 to May 29.
