MISSION VIEJO — A 41-year-old construction worker lost his leg Monday after a 24-ton track loader ran over it, officials said.
Fidel Perez of Yucaipa was listed in critical condition at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center, where his leg was amputated after the 11 a.m. accident, according to Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Keith Brown.
The accident occurred while Perez and others worked on a construction project on Country Club Drive at Oso Parkway for the Santa Margarita Water District, Brown said.
