2 Injured in Fiery Wreck That Blocks I-5

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — At least two people were injured, one seriously, in a fiery three-car crash Monday night that blocked southbound lanes of Interstate 5, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash occurred about 7:50 p.m. in San Juan Capistrano just south of the San Joaquin Hills tollway. The impact left one car ablaze, while rescuers had to pry open another car to remove a victim, the CHP said.
At least two people were taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo. Their names were not available.
The wreckage was cleared about 8:30 p.m.
