U.S. Labs Working on Nuclear Arms

U.S. weapon laboratories are working on new or modified designs for nuclear arms, government documents show. Critics say such work undermines the intent of an international ban on nuclear testing that President Clinton signed last year. The work is spelled out in declassified excerpts from an Energy Department document obtained by the Natural Resources Defense Council.
