The California Public Employees’ Retirement System said it grew by more than $19 billion last year, ending the fiscal year with an investment portfolio valued at $119.7 billion. CalPERS said it earned 20.1% on its investments for the 12 months ended June 30, well above last year’s performance of 15.3%. . . . Irvine-based Fluor Corp. said its fiscal third-quarter net income fell 2.8% to $66.2 million, or 79 cents a share, from $68.1 million, or 81 cents, a year earlier. . . . Camarillo-based California Amplifier Inc. appointed Fred Sturm, 39, president and chief executive. . . .
