Less than two weeks after easing restrictions on TV drug advertising, the Food and Drug Administration has ordered an immediate halt to television ads for Schering-Plough Corp.’s antihistamine Claritin, saying possible side effects are not explained properly. The company said it was working to resolve the issue; it would not say if the ads were being pulled. . . . MAID, a small, London-based online information provider, said it may make a bid for U.S. newspaper company Knight-Ridder Inc.’s Knight-Ridder Information Inc.
