Bicyclist Victim of Hit-and-Run

An Oxnard man was in serious condition after being struck early Thursday by a hit-and-run driver on Channel Islands Boulevard.
Daniel David Rodriguez, 27, was riding his bicycle across Channel Islands Boulevard east of Acacia Street about 1 a.m. when he was hit by a blue Chevy pickup or Suburban, a police spokesman said.
Rodriguez was knocked onto the hood and into the windshield of the vehicle, authorities said. The vehicle received damage to the right front fender, right headlight and windshield, but continued traveling west on Channel Islands Boulevard after the accident, the spokesman said.
Rodriguez was taken to St. John’s Medical Center and treated for head and chest injuries. He was listed in serious condition Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
