Residents Urged to Lock Doors in Wake of Attack, Thefts
- Share via
Long Beach police have urged residents in the Belmont Shore and Naples areas to keep doors and windows locked, especially in the evening, because a sexual assault and two burglaries in those neighborhoods may have been committed by the same man.
In each incident the intruder entered the victims’ homes through unlocked side doors between 10 p.m. and 12:30 a.m., police said.
“There is a good possibility that they are related,” Det. Katherine Watson said of the crimes. “In the burglaries, the women were asleep in their bedrooms and awoke to find a man standing over them. They screamed, and he fled.”
