Children’s Health Screenings Offered

Free immunizations and health screenings will be offered Sunday to anyone age 2 months to 18 years at the Kids Care Fair sponsored by Simi Valley Hospital.
About 400 free bicycle helmets will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis to participants in the fair, which runs from noon to 4 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of Simi Valley, 2850 Lemon Drive.
The screenings will include height and weight measurements and tests for vision, blood pressure, dental hygiene, speech and scoliosis.
“If you can catch a possible warning sign of any kind of disease in a screening, it allows the parents the opportunity to follow up with a more in-depth examination with their physicians,” said JoLynn de la Torre, hospital spokeswoman.
The fair will also provide safety information, entertainment, balloons and a “Mom and Dad Info. Center.”
