Randy Harvey’s suggestion that the Dodgers retire Fernando Valenzuela’s number [Aug. 19] is ridiculous. Fernandomania was exciting and he gave Dodger fans some good memories. However, he certainly doesn’t belong with Koufax and Drysdale as the only pitchers in Dodger history to have their numbers retired.
