Dudley Hart, who turned 29 earlier this month, stole the thunder from the other 20-somethings Friday, shooting a five-under-par 65 to take a two-stroke lead after the second round of the World Series of Golf at Akron, Ohio.
Greg Norman, who edged Hart at the St. Jude Classic in June, shot his second consecutive 68 and was alone at four-under 136.
Meanwhile, first-round co-leaders Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson stumbled to 72s. Woods duck-hooked a drive on the ninth hole and hit a spectator in the back, knocking her face down on a cart path. She was not seriously injured and Woods gave her a golf ball.
Woods has hit only 11 fairways in two rounds.
Nick Price followed his 68 with a 71 that included a hole in one at the 206-yard par-three fifth hole on the Firestone Country Club layout.

Stanford junior Joel Kribel routed Jason Bugg, 6 and 5, in the U.S. Amateur at Lemont, Ill., to advance to a semifinal match with Walker Cup teammate Brad Elder.
Elder, a Texas player who finished second in the NCAA championships, beat Michael Boyd of Tulsa, Okla., 3 and 1. In the other semifinal, Walker Cup player Randy Leen of Indiana, will face Georgia Tech’s Matt Kuchar.

Brandie Burton, winless since a three-victory season in 1993, shot a six-under 66 to take a one-stroke lead over Colleen Walker after the first round of the Star Bank LPGA Classic at Beavercreek, Ohio.
Burton, back in top form after a series of injuries over the past three years, made four birdie putts of 20 feet or more on the rain-soaked greens of the Jack Nicklaus-designed Country Club of the North course--including a 45-footer on No. 6.
“I hit some great putts today, but I also had four or five lip-outs, which probably equaled things out,” Burton said. “It makes you giggle at yourself, because you miss a five-footer on No. 5, then go and make a 45-footer.”
