Police Identify Man Shot on Sidewalk

SANTA ANA — A man shot and killed in an apparent drive-by shooting Saturday night has been identified as 19-year-old Victor Hugo Martinez, authorities said Sunday.
Police still are searching for suspects.
Officer Jim Donnelly said Martinez, of Santa Ana, was shot in the ribs at 8:41 p.m. on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of West Occidental Street. The Police Department’s gang unit is investigating the case.
Martinez died after being transported to a local hospital, police said.
Possible witnesses are being interviewed, but so far police have no description of the shooter, Donnelly said.
