Robert L. Borrego; Fellowship Founder

Santa Paula resident Robert L. Borrego, a Ventura County native, died Saturday after a brief illness. He was 53.
Borrego was born Nov. 26, 1943, in Ventura. He was a founding member of Southcoast Fellowship of Ventura and was involved in the church’s ministry, outreach and food-share programs. He was a former employee of the county’s Department of Public Works.
Borrego is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sylvia; his mother, Louise Craig of Saratoga; sons Roberto, Ernesto, Jaime and Isaac, all of Santa Paula; grandmothers Adeline V. Borrego of Santa Paula and Amparo Quintos of Fresno, and brother Frank of Visalia.
A memorial service will be held today at 1 p.m. at Southcoast Fellowship, 4050 Market St., Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
