* UCLA (0-0) at Washington State (0-0)
* KICKOFF: 12:30 p.m., Channel 7

* UCLA UPDATE: The Bruins have nine offensive starters back in their second year of a new attack that they think can outscore people. They also need a victory before consecutive nonconference games against Tennessee and Texas.
* WASHINGTON STATE UPDATE: Cougar Coach Mike Price says his team has an opportunity, with its season-opening schedule of UCLA and USC. He admits, though, that it’s also a challenge.
* EDGE TO UCLA: The Bruins have struggled at Pullman in recent years, but this year’s team has more experience than many of those others and the defense believes it has something to prove.
