Cal State Campus Ranked No. 1 Locally for Diversity

In this week’s issue, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills the No. 1 campus for student diversity among regional universities in the Western United States. In the same category, the university, located in Carson, tied for No. 2 in the country.
The university’s student body is 31.8% African American, 29.9% Latino, 25.5% white and 12% Asian / Pacific Islanders.
Taking first place for racial diversity in the country was City University of New York, Baruch College. Tied for second place was the downtown campus of the University of Houston.
“We are especially pleased with the university’s campus diversity ranking,” said Cal State Dominguez Hills President Robert Detweiler.
“The diversity of a college or university can play a significant role in adding to a student’s overall educational experience,” he said.
