Party to Mark School’s Rebirth After 17 Years

The Garden Grove Unified School District will hold a grand reopening party Wednesday to welcome a new generation of students to Skylark Elementary School, which is opening after being closed for 17 years.
The celebration will be held on the school’s playground from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The school is at 11250 MacMurray St. in Garden Grove.
Festivities will include a pizza party beginning at 6:30 p.m. and introductions of the school’s new faculty. Visitations to assigned classrooms are also scheduled.
The new school year in the Garden Grove Unified School District begins Thursday.
