Council Modifies Park Plans After Complaints
- Share via
The City Council modified planned improvements for Mendocino Park this week in response to concerns from residents.
“We thought they were very empathetic to needs of the neighborhood,” resident Dennis McGraw said. “I was happy with what they decided and thought they took our concerns seriously.”
Most of the complaints stemmed from privacy issues.
Homeowners on one side of the park worried that a planned walkway would draw many pedestrians, who would be able to see into their backyards.
The council eliminated the walkway, along with a barbecue that residents worried would attract weekend users and create excessive noise and traffic.
Park benches and tables were either eliminated or moved to other areas of the park where houses wouldn’t be affected.
