HUNTINGTON BEACH — An 11-year-old Huntington Beach boy remained in critical condition Friday, a day after he was hit by a suspected drunk driver near a school.
Yeeno Wu was being treated for major head wounds at the UCI Medical Center in Orange after he was hit just before 7 p.m. Thursday while riding his bike across Indianapolis Avenue at Titan Lane near Sowers Middle School, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Luis Ochoa said.
The driver, Doris Coppola, 56, of Huntington Beach, was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, Ochoa said. The incident remains under investigation, and it was not clear Friday if Coppola would face charges.
