Splash update--The Splash’s stretch of playing eight games in 14 days concludes tonight. The Splash has won seven of its last eight games. The defense has held opponent’s leading scorer without a goal in each of the last three games. Bernie Lilavois (29 goals, 12 assists) has 11 goals and four assists over the last seven games, and Danny Barber (18 goals, 13 assists) has nine goals and seven assists over the last five games; they had only one assist between them in Friday’s 5-4 shootout victory over Sacramento. Doug Neely has nine assists in his last six games.

Sandsharks update--The Sandsharks are last in the Western Division and appear to be the one team in the division that won’t make the playoffs. They played Detroit on Friday--a matchup between the league’s lowest-scoring teams--and won, 4-3, in a shootout. Arizona has lost two previous games to the Splash, both at the Pond, 8-4 and 12-4.
