Dirty Politics Affect Zeanah Recall Effort
- Share via
* What do you call a person who:
* Has clucked like a chicken during Thousand Oaks City Council meetings . . .
* Made faces at speakers during Public Comments in an attempt to intimidate them . . .
* Passed around hate-ridden fliers about the council majority . . .
* Orchestrates the worst of the worst people in our community to come down to City Hall to take potshots at those who oppose her during Public Comments . . .
* Has taken part in the failed campaign to recall two council members . . .
* Most important, has willingly risked the lives of every man, woman and child in Thousand Oaks over her belligerence with the waste-water system?
You call her Linda Parks, who is managing the group called CARE, which opposes the recall of Elois Zeanah.
She cares all right. She cares that hate is on its way out in this community, and she will have to clean up her act, or meet the same fate.

* G is for “Growth” even if it says “Gillette!”
To vote in favor of the recall of Elois Zeanah and to elect Dennis Gillette to the Thousand Oaks City Council is to support pro-growth and pro-development.
Why do I say this?
Firstly, I am certainly not that naive to believe that the committee that worked to get the recall of Elois Zeanah on the ballot (if paying for signature gatherers can be called that--Jill Lederer’s over $140,000 for starters!) did this with no replacement candidate in mind.
That may be what they are saying, but I think not.
Secondly, just follow the trail that links everyone together.
Gillette is a vice president at Cal Lutheran University, which was founded by the Olsens.
Is it a coincidence that Raymond Olsen is Chuck Cohen’s father-in-law?
Yes, I am referring to that same Chuck Cohen who represents and supports the pro-growth, pro-development faction in this city.
Is it a further coincidence that Gillette is and has been an advisor to Andy Fox and also a close friend of Lederer, who put up more than $140,000 to get the recall of Zeanah on the ballot?
How about the fact that Fox used Cohen’s office in processing most of his campaign literature when he last ran for City Council?
Too many coincidences or just obvious facts that link it together.
Remember that in order for the recall to fail, there must be 50% plus one vote against the recall.
It is vital that we get out and cast our vote of “No” and most certainly do not elect another hand-picked candidate for the pro-growth, pro-development people.
There is one more year until the regular council election takes place. Let’s keep a balance on the City Council.
