Economic Analysis of Projects Needed
* At a meeting at Oxnard College on Aug. 20, it was strongly implied by a city staffer that an economic analysis of development projects was not and never would be a part of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
The truth is simple. Economic analysis is neither prohibited nor mandated. It is optional. The city of Oxnard should and must mandate economic analysis in the CEQA process for each and every development that is brought forward in the city that is not exempt under the environmental laws of California.
