Lancaster Stays Tied in Race

The Lancaster JetHawks maintained pace in the California League playoff chase Saturday with a 5-4 victory over the San Jose Giants in front of 2,810 at San Jose Municipal Stadium.

Greg Connors hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning for the JetHawks, who had lost three straight. The JetHawks (74-65) are tied with Modesto for a wild-card spot in the Valley Division. Modesto defeated Stockton, 5-4.

Lancaster again plays at San Jose and Modesto plays host to Stockton today in the final regular-season games for all the teams. If the JetHawks and A’s are tied after today, they will meet in a one-game playoff Monday at Modesto.
