Russia Removed From Money Laundering List

A task force on money laundering removed Russia from its blacklist of countries failing to counter the crime, a panel statement said, citing “the implementation of significant reforms.”
The Paris-based Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development panel also removed Dominica, Niue and the Marshall Islands from its list of nations not cooperating in the fight against money laundering. But it recommended imposing countermeasures on Nigeria and Ukraine.
“We expect this decision to favorably influence the investment image of our country in general,” said Russian Cabinet spokesman Alexei Gorshkov.
