Re “Democrats Pick Lautenberg to Replace Torricelli,” Oct. 2: After the teary departure from the Senate race, does the good Sen. Robert Torricelli from the Garden State still get a pension of $145,000 for life?
Will he have to give back the $8,100 watch he received from an “admirer”? Only in America!

The Republicans in this state should follow the lead of the Democrats in New Jersey and ignore the election laws here.
Since Bill Simon can’t win the gubernatorial race he ought to be asked to step down and perhaps have anyone who can beat Gray Davis run instead.
