A 28-year-old man was shot to death at a pay phone in North Hollywood on Tuesday in what appears to be a gang-related killing, Los Angeles police said.
Miguel Gaona was pronounced dead at the scene after being shot about noon in the 13100 block of Vanowen Street near Ethel Avenue, Los Angeles Police Det. Mike Coffey said. Two suspected gang members approached the victim, and one of the men pulled out a gun and shot Gaona several times in the upper body, Coffey said. He said Gaona did not have gang ties.
