Lt. Governor’s Race

Re “Reader Offers a Sound Idea for Governor’s Race,” by George Skelton, Oct. 14: If we are going to assume that the gubernatorial contest is over, then why not pay some attention to the other statewide races? Californians could make significant reform by voting for change in the lieutenant governor’s office. Sen. Bruce McPherson (R-Santa Cruz) has fought for public safety, worked to improve our schools and striven to bring back fiscal sanity. Republicans have a winner in McPherson. His campaign could bring much-needed balance back to Sacramento.
