Atmospheric Scientist Is Given UCI Endowed Post

After a nationwide search, UC Irvine has turned to one of its own to fill a $1-million endowed chair in earth system science.
Michael Prather, a world-renowned UCI atmospheric scientist whose work on greenhouse gases has influenced international environmental standards, has been named to the Fred Kavli Endowed Chair, a position created with a gift from a foundation founded by the Santa Barbara entrepreneur.
