Man Gets Life Sentence in Attack on Inmate

A 21-year-old man was sentenced Friday to life in state prison for a racially motivated attack on a black inmate who now requires a wheelchair.
Carlos Roberto Robledo was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Curtis B. Rappe for his role in the April 2000 stabbing and beating attack at Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic. The victim was in a coma for eight months.
Another attacker, Ramon Brizuela, 28, was sentenced in July to 42 years to life in state prison.
