Cat Power at the Music Box

Chan Marshall has grown into an increasingly confident performer as her Cat Power project became rooted in warmhearted vintage soul, as seen on her last album of originals, “The Greatest.” It’s hoped she’ll have some new material in the pipe at this much anticipated set. There’s always the small chance of a meltdown, but when she’s at her best, her cigarette-husky voice can be transcendent.
