Who’s expected at Grammy parties?

After six weeks of somewhat staid awards fare for film and television, the Grammys shake up L.A. with some very welcome sonic edge. Less talking, more dancing. The intersection of music stars and their famous athlete, executive and celebrity fans makes serious parties possible. Here’s a preview of who will be making beautiful music at private parties and where.

UNICEF’s Women of Compassion. Angeleno socialite Colleen Bell will host a brunch with the charity on Friday honoring Gucci creative director Frida Giannini. The fashion rainmaker will be receiving her award from recent campaign star Jennifer Lopez, before UNICEF honorary chair Mary J. Blige and ambassador Alyssa Milano.

MusiCares Person of the Year. The do-good foundation this year honors Barbra Streisand at its annual event, where the legend will give a rare performance and receive celebrity tributes for her body of artistic and philanthropic work. Streisand will be feted by fellow legends Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, Donna Summer and Herbie Hancock, as well as “Glee” stars Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and Darren Criss and others on Friday at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Ciara, the Dream, Omar Epps, athletes DeSean Jackson and Shawne Merriman will stop by — Justin Timberlake may also show his face, as might lovebirds Katy Perry and Russell Brand. Stewart has handled tracks for Justin Bieber, but this event could be past the Beeb’s bedtime. He’s not slated to attend but we can all dream.

Ciroc Cîroc / OK magazine. Diddy’s favorite spirit and celeb mag OK are celebrating women in music Friday with a to-do at Hollywood’s the Colony. Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls will host and Grammy nominee Natasha Bedingfield will perform.
