Lockdown at San Marino High lifted; police make arrest in threat against student

A minor was arrested Monday after authorities said the person threatened at least one student at San Marino High School in an incident that forced the school to go on lockdown for several hours.
San Marino police officials called the school’s principal early Monday to inform him about a violent threat against a male student and possibly the student’s friends. School officials and police did not specify how the threat was discovered, but law enforcement said it was a shooting threat.
“There are incorrect rumors going around that there is an active shooter at the high school. The high school is on lockdown only as a precaution,” the school wrote on its website.
The minor, whose name was not released, was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats, police said.
The lockdown was lifted about 10 a.m. Classes are expected to resume shortly after 11 a.m., according to school officials.
