The National Charity League was honored with the Kennedy-Kolpin Bolsa

Chica Conservation Award. Kelly Keller of the Bolsa Chica Stewards

presented the award to local National Charity League president

Barbara Crofts at a New Year’s morning ceremony at Bolsa Bay. The

National Charity League includes mothers and daughters who volunteer

for a variety of projects, and over the past five years the group has

worked at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve ... Several Huntington

Beach students have been named to the Dean’s Honors List at UC Santa

Barbara. Earning honors are Laura Aydelotte, Kristy Burnett, Megan De

Smet, Megan Garibaldi, Christian Green, Sean Herron, Alex Messina,

Leslie Reed, Robert Waltman and Turi Wilson. All Huntington Beach

students on the list had fall quarter grade-point averages of at

least 3.75 ... Hebrew Academy fifth-graders David Coulter and Shaina

Gollub were named Readers of the Month. Both students have read more

than 50 books since the beginning of the school year.
